My CF Climb Story

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. Our Elsmere FD relay team (of which I am, proudly, the oldest member) will climb for each of them in full turnout gear on Saturday, February 24. This cause is very personal to me as I have lost a dear young friend to this disease and climb in her memory and to support another sweet young woman courageously dealing with this disease. Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many young lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. We will not stop climbing until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
