My CF Climb Story

Hello team brAVERY,

It is time for our annual fundraiser! Every year we come to our team and ask you to donate to our tower climb.  We raise money to fund groundbreaking and lifesaving research to further the advancements of CF therapies.  Avery has been a recipient of these advancements over and over since his diagnosis at 6 weeks old.

In 2021 Avery switched from Kalydeco to Trikafta, which is a modulator that affects both of Avery’s defective genes!  Avery is doing absolutely amazing on Trikafta!  He is healthy and thriving, but we must keep up the fight for a cure and for a modulator that helps every single person living and dying with this disease.  We are not done yet!

We are deeply indebted to the CF Foundation for their commitment to everyone with CF.  Because of them, this disease is changing so rapidly that the path these patients are on looks completely different than it did even 10 years ago.  We are also deeply indebted to our team of supporters.  You have personally funded these efforts for the last 14 years and it has allowed for so much change.  We know what a sacrifice it is to give your money to this amazing cause, and we love you for making that sacrifice year after year.  You all know Avery and you know he is worth it!  Thank you for being part of our team.  Thank you for loving this kid so big.  Thank you for staying by our side.  We love you so much.

With Love from team brAVERY

Cystic fibrosis is a rare, life-shortening, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S., which causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers – all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.

Sixty years ago, most children with cystic fibrosis did not live long enough to attend elementary school, but thanks to Foundation-based research and care, many people with CF are now living into their forties – achieving milestones once thought not possible, such as attending college, pursuing careers, and having a family of their own.

While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in CF Climb, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with CF today.

Please make a difference and support me by donating to my CF Climb fundraising campaign today!

Donate an amount that is meaningful to you, thanks.
