IMPORTANT NOTE: To protect the health and well-being of the cystic fibrosis community and CF Foundation staff during the COVID-19 outbreak, the cystic fibrosis community is finding new ways to come together through virtual experiences. While we will not be together in person, we can be together in spirit and participate virtually - showing the strength of our community and passion to find a cure for all people living with cystic fibrosis.

My CF Climb Story

Welcome to the LEAN TEAM home page for the Tri-Ultra Challenge! When the CFF asked me to be an ambassador for this new event, I did not even hesitate to say YES!! While I have participated in fundraising events over the past decade and worked with dietitians in the CF setting, this is a first for me, and you know ME, when I commit to doing something, I go BIG!! I have set an ambitious goal of raising $32,000 to add to the CFF's overall goal of raising $65M to honor their 65 years of research, innovations, and service to this population that is counting on them to cure this life ending disease. Not only do I want to raise funds, I want to have the BIGGEST virtual team they have ever seen! And I know with your help, we can do it! I have the most amazing LEAN community of supporters, family, and friends!

With all the worthy causes to support, you might ask why the CFF. This is a cause near and dear to the Nighbert family heart. My nephew has CF. He just turned 20 years old, and this simply would not have been possible without the important work the CFF is doing. 30,000 Americans have this life-shortening disease, and while they are the ones living with it, the families and friends are on the sidelines hoping, wishing, and praying for a cure. In 2019, CFF had a MAJOR breakthrough in the treatment of CF. The new drug, Trikafta, is adding tomorrow's to the lives of many CFers, my nephew is one of them. But the CFF is committed to CURING CF for all of those who suffer and will not stop until they do. And that's where we come in. If they're not stopping, I am not stopping!

So I ask that you please donate and no amount is too small! If each person in the LEAN community gave $1, can you imagine where we would be?! So give what you feel led to give. But I want to challenge you to JOIN the LEAN TEAM! You don't have to accomplish the Tri-Ultra challenge! Pick one of the events and crush it! Many of you already get in those 10,000 steps a day, so join our team and give thosesteps a new purpose for the two months. A lot of you are crushng the LEAN workouts, so join our team and crush those 65 minute workouts! Ask some of YOUR friends and family to support you with a few donations while you work out for a new cause! This event isn't just  about raising money for CF, it's about raising awareness of this debilitating disease that affects so many.

By becoming part of our team and making a donation, you are joining a growing group of people committed to finding a cure for CF. Because of tremendous advancements in research, treatments, and care from support of countless donors, many people with CF are living long enough to realize their dreams of attending college, pursuing careers, getting married, and having kids. These people are counting on the CFF to live longer, healthier lives.  And I am counting on you! Let's do this!!
