About CF
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. There are close to 40,000 children and adults living with cystic fibrosis in the United States (and an estimated 105,000 people have been diagnosed with CF across 94 countries), and CF can affect people of every racial and ethnic group.
Some people with the disease say it’s like breathing through a narrow straw. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria, leading to life-threatening lung infections.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Denver CF Climb, I am stepping up and helping to make CF stand for Cure Found. Join team Blame it on the Altitude and climb with us on Saturday, July 27th at Coors Field!
All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
