About Our CF Climb

Can you climb to the top faster than a first responder in full combat gear? Test your speed and endurance and join us for a unique and challenging experience unlike anything else you have done before! Take on the challenge of climbing the 40 floors and 800 stairs of “Big Pink” alongside first responders in the 2022 CF Climb | Portland Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge.

This one-of-a-kind event will bring together endurance athletes and firefighters from around the world to climb Portland’s second tallest and most iconic building the US Bancorp Tower affectionately known as “Big Pink”. Firefighter participants will be outfitted in over 70lbs of full “combat gear” including Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) which is commonly used in the line of duty – to take on the complete “firefighter stairclimb challenge.” Non-firefighter athletes can climb in regular workout attire, or wear a weighted vest, to see how they stack up alongside our firefighters.

In addition, all athletes firefighter and non-firefighters have to opportunity to compete against one another to raise funds in the battle against cystic fibrosis. Since this event’s inception in 2009, over one thousand firefighters worldwide have raised over $1.5 million in the fight against cystic fibrosis and now we invite firefighters and endurance athletes alike to add to that total and help us make “CF Stand for Cure Found.”

Whether climbing to improve timing, test your endurance and see how you stack up against a firefighter or to simply cross the finish line, this event is a great way to spend the day with co-workers, friends or family while “Adding Tomorrows” for people with cystic fibrosis.

For more information, please call (503) 226-3435 or email Development Director Allison Bailey-Nouri at ambailey@cff.forg. Thank you for adding tomorrows for people living with cystic fibrosis!
