Team Achievements
Our CF Climb Story
For almost 20 years, each September, firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R), along with firefighters from across the PNW and beyond, have donned turnouts and SCBA's and climbed 40 floors of the US Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's fight against cystic fibrosis. The event, started by retired Portland firefighter Wes Loucks, whose grandsons were born with CF, has raised OVER $1 MILLION since the beginning. These funds have help tens of thousands of CF patients with treatments and support, advanced truly life changing medications, and continued to fund CF research. The goal? Make CF stand for Cure Found! CF affects about 30,000 Americans a year. With continued advances, the life expectancy of someone with CF has increased from the 20's to over 50 years!
We invite you to support us by joining our team and climbing with us (firefighters and non-firefighters are welcome!), donating to a team member who will climb on your behalf, or simply thinking positive thoughts!
