Avery has cystic fibrosis. She is a spunky, hilarious, life-loving 11-year-old who deserves to live a long, long time. Thankfully, her lungs are healthy for the time-being, but she was born with a non-functioning pancreas, which means she has to swallow enzyme capsules before she eats anything in order to absorb nutrients and digest food. As cystic fibrosis is a progressive disease, it's only a matter of time before its ugly symptoms interfere with her ability to breathe. This could lead to an eventual lung transplant, which we are hoping to avoid by raising funds to fuel life-saving research. We are doing this Great Strides walk for Avery, and we hope you will support us in our efforts.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis, making it an orphan disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to make this disease visible with a mission to fund research to find a cure. We walk for Avery and others with cystic fibrosis who stuggle every day just to breathe. Will you join us? All we need you to do to become a member of our team is click on the "Join our Team" button. From there you can make a donation and start your fundraising.
By becoming a member of our team and making a donation, you are joining a growing group of people committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis. Together, we are adding tomorrows to the lives of people living with CF by supporting the search for a cure.
Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families. Thank you for supporting Avery's Army!
