Kyle's Team

Dear Friends and Family,

It is that time of year again to participate in our 19th annual Great Strides walk benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation. This years walk is on May 18th in Carondelet Park (Check In Time: 9:30AM Walk Start Time: 10:30). It is always a very enjoyable event so we hope you can join us. If you can't make it to the walk but, would like to support Kyle's team, you can make a donation. Kyle is now 21 and recenntly got into the Apprentice program through the Carpenter's Union in St. Louis. He loves his job and takes a ton of pride in his work. It is challenging for Kyle to balance all of his respiratory treatments and medications, work hard, and have a social life like any other 21 year old. It takes a huge amount of dedication and diligence on his part to keep up with all of it, especially his health.

The search for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis continues and the light continues to get brighter. The Cystic Fibrosis foundation does amazing work partnering with pharmaceutical companies to continue to develop drugs that have proven to decrease hospitalizations and extend lives. "The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure Cystic Fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care" (www.cff.org).

We have to continue to fight the fight against CF. It is your support that gives us the ability to do so. For every $1.00 that you donate, 90 cents goes straight to research. There are very few charities for which that is true. There are medications being used currently which treat the underlying genetic defects in a patient. This is tremendous advancement and I know that in the very near future Kyle will be able to take advantage of these drugs.
