Hi friends,
Beckett turned 12 this weekend and is in middle school! He is walking in his 13th Great Strides walk to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!
Beckett loves making movies, recording music, playing the piano, playing video games and hanging out with his buddies. Right now he just started track season, is representing Beaumont Middle School in the regional "Battle of the Books" competition (Go Potato Squad!) and plays the drums in the 6th grade band.
He works to stay healthy every day by taking medicine and spending an hour 2x per day doing airway clearance therapy. He is very patient at his quarterly checkups and when he does his PTFs, X-rays, and blood draws. Last year, he began taking Trikafta, the drug we have been fundraising for. This drug attacks the disease on a cellular level. So far he has been responding well to the treatment and has avoided hospitalization again this year. No Covid!
It is empowering to know that we can be a part of finding a cure for CF and increasing the life expectancy for everyone with CF.
We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us before and for those of you who make an annual donation. This year is just as important as years past, this year we have a chance to make a statement in the Portland Great Strides by celebrating that Beckett's Team has raised almost $450,000 in 12 years!
Every donation to Beckett's Team will be matched by the Tim and Nan Corwin Charitable Trust Foundation.
Thank you so much! Sean, Alli and Beckett
