It's time to brush off your capes and tights and again join forces with team DAYnamic Duo at the annual Great Strides walk!
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis including our two kiddos Dylan (9) and Daniel (6). We walk for them once a year to help raise awareness and financial support in hopes of some day developing a cure for CF. Will you join us?
There are a number of ways you can support our family:
*You can join our team at the event (dressed in your best super-hero costume if you like!) and walk with us as a symbol of your support for Dylan, Daniel, and the rest of the CF community.
*You can make a donation to the CF Foundation on behalf of our team at fightcf.cff.org/goto/daynamicduo. The CF Foundation is working diligently to find a cure for CF and also provides many programs to support families affected by CF!
*Most importantly, you can join us in praying for a cure.
Great Strides is a fun, casual, family-friendly event for people with CF and their families and friends. We hope you can join us!
Saturday, May 9 at Harker Heights Community Park in Harker Heights, TX 9am: Registration begins 10am: Presentation & Walk 11am: Lunch provided by Rudy's Barbecue
Foundation-Sponsored Indoor and Outdoor Events and Gatherings
The Foundation is closely following the evolving coronavirus outbreak. We will continue to monitor coronavirus guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and assess whether we need to change any scheduled events.
To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow, and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact, as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function.
To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation's attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to attend the indoor portion of a Foundation-sponsored event at a specific time. For the outdoor portion, the Foundation recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times.
