As many of you know, our daughter, Bridgette Alyse, and our niece Kate were both diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at an early age.
CF is a life threatening genetic disease which causes mucus in the body to be thick and sticky. This in turns affects the ability of the pancreas to release digestive enzymes properly as well as causes mucus to build up in the lungs. Over time, this causes irreversible damage. Just to stay healthy, our girls must take enzymes with every meal and snack, special vitamins, plus twice daily breathing/vest treatments. Bridgette began taking Trikafta, a gene modulator in 2019 and it has helped her stay active in all that she loves to do, especially soccer!
Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.
In hopes that a cure may be found within Bridgette’s lifetime, we have formed “Bridgette’s Buddies” to support cystic fibrosis awareness and raise funds to support vital research.
This year, Bridgette’s Buddies are walking n the GREAT STRIDES walk at the 2023 Dallas County-Addison on 05/20/2023. The GREAT STRIDES event is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. Please help us meet our fund-raising goal of $3,000 by sponsoring and/or joining Bridgette's Buddies. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
Sincerely,
Mandy Truesdale
