Happy 2024 Everyone! Kray and Addi need your help! We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters! Just in the past couple years, many encouraging advancements have been made in medications and treatments to address the underlying cause of CF which Addi and Kray both battle every day! None of that would have been possible without grassroots fundraising efforts like the Great Strides Walk.

Krayton and Addi may have taken completely different paths toward their diagnosis with CF but the destination is the same: a cure for CF! Your gift will help add tomorrows to our adorable kiddos and the lives of all people with cystic fibrosis by supporting groundbreaking research and medical progress towards a cure. Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system in about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs, leading to life-threatening lung infections. In addition, that same sticky mucus obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. Most individuals with CF have a life expectancy of 40 years of age.

At this time, there is not a cure for CF; however, the combination of daily breathing treatments, antibiotics, and vitamin supplements help slow down the progression and allow individuals with CF to lead a longer, healthier life.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has played an integral role in raising awareness and extending the lives of those with CF by raising millions of dollars through events like “Great Strides.” Nearly every drug used in CF care was made possible because of the funds raised through the CF Foundation.

As Krayton’s Krew and Addi's Army, we along with the rest of the CF community will not stop until CF stands for “Cure Found!”
