It has been almost three years since the words "cystic fibrosis" changed our lives forever. In two years we have experienced the joys of having a child, watching him grow, and watching you swarm our family in support and love.
In less than two years, Major has learned to walk, talk, do a somersault, go up and down the stairs, use a slide, feed the dog, play hide and seek, and how to open every door in the house. In less than two years, he has morphed from a teeny baby to a toddler ball of muscle. He has turned into a caring and strong little man right before our eyes.
In less than two years, Major has missed family dinners, trips, and playdates due to illness or treatment time. He devotes 60 minutes daily to lung treatments that will lengthen his life. In less than three years, he has taken over 5000 pills so he can absorb the food he puts in his body. In less than three years, he has been lucky to make it two months without a doctor's appointment.
Don't feel bad for him. He is tough. He doesn't want pity.
What he does want is donations for a cure. And he wants you to walk with him at Great Strides. Not just for him, but for everyone who has cystic fibrosis. We want to tell Major this whole thing is over before he ever knows it started. Please help us find a cure.
Thank you, more than you know.
Drew, Jaci, and Major Strube
