My Xtreme Hike Story
This hike is important to me for a couple of reasons. The first, to be sure, is the need to find treatments and a cure for cystic fibrosis. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis, with a very real struggle to breathe. Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. I hike for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
My second reason is more personal: I am so grateful for all medical science has done to make it possible for me to complete an Xtreme hike and I'd like to pay it forward. My weight loss surgery allowed me to lose 180 pounds and become fit enough for something like this; then, simple treatments for my exercise induced asthma allow me to breathe on the uphill climbs.
And that's what I hope my efforts will help bring for those who have CF: the ability to breathe.
Help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Xtreme Hike fundraising campaign. Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with CF.
