There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. As you know, Dan lives with it every day. It's been a rough few years, with multiple hospitalizations and home IV antibiotics. But still, incredible progress is being made in the search for a cure! Dan regularly participates in studies at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, hoping to do his part in helping find better ways to manage CF, both for himself and for those whom he has never met but shares a special bond.
We realize more and more each year how much the CF Foundation does. With money raised through events like the upcoming Great Strides fundraiser, money raised by you, new antibiotics are being developed which will be used to fight antibiotic resistant bacteria that sets up camp in the lungs of those with CF. This has become urgent for us, as Dan has developed resistance to all drugs he has used outpatient, except for one. That translates into the prospect of more frequent disruptive hospitalizations. And while the lives of so many people with CF are cut far too short, and there's still no cure for this disease...we have hope! We know new treatments and, dare we dream, even the possibility of a cure is on the horizon! Will you please consider making a donation to our Great Strides fundraising campaign today, or join us in Ocean City on April 27th? Thanks so much, and fingers crossed for a warm sunny day!

Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
