Reef McIntosh is a fearless surfer, determined to find a wave that can stand up to his impressive height. As a longtime member of the elite surfing community, Reef always manages to push the bar of what is possible even further. Reef began surfing in Kauai when he was only 4 years old and continued to grow his love for the sport, earning accolades and respect from his community for his dedication. Nicknamed “Big Cat,” it is no small wonder that Reef’s favorite places to surf include Pipeline (Hawaii), Cloudbreak (Fiji), and Zuma (California), all boasting some gnarly waves. Along with his love for challenge comes Reef’s passion for giving back and helping people with cystic fibrosis live longer lives. As a resident of the Quicksilver Pipeline House, Reef takes great pride in sharing what he’s learned from surfing all over the world with other surfers and giving back to his community.
Serena Nava was born in Texas, where she began surfing at age 4. At age 12 she and her father, John, moved to Costa Rica to continue pursuing her surf career. There, Nava began competing in the WSL 2017 Women’s Junior Tour, where she qualified for her first pro quarterfinal. She then moved to California in 2018 and began competing in the WSL Women’s QS 2018 Tour. In 2019 Nava will begin her “Surfing America” Tour, which will determine her ranking and participation with the Women’s USA Championship Tour Team.
