About CF Cycle for Life

Get your wheels in motion and join us for our September 10, 2017 annual bicycle event as we ride through some of the most picturesque and scenic terrain in Western Pennsylvania. CF Cycle for Life is a fully-supported ride with route options of 15, 30 and 60 miles – perfect for beginners to advanced riders. This is the most fun you’ll have on two wheels - from breakfast to our cycle post party; you are extremely taken care of! You can enjoy fully stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles, bike mechanics for bicycle maintenance and repair, ride marshals to cheer you along the way and plenty of support vehicles to help you complete the ride.

Before the ride we’ll provide:
Training rides and events to help you prepare
Online participant center to ensure fundraising success
Monthly newsletters with training tips, fundraising ideas, etc.

At the event we’ll provide:
Complimentary breakfast
Stocked rest stops every 10 miles with food and refreshing beverages
Support and gear (SAG) vehicles if you need a ride

Why ride alone?  You can cycle as an individual or gather your friends, family and/or colleagues to join you as a team (min. 4 cyclists per team). The Pittsburgh CF Cycle for Life provides for a meaningful team building experience for any corporate group.

In addition to the registration fee, each participant raises the minimum pledge requirement of $200.

Please note, this is an open road ride and although it will be well marked and volunteers and authorities will be stationed along it, we require our cyclists to follow the rules of the road. We also encourage our cyclists to either ride a hybrid, cross or road bike because of the rolling hills.

About Cystic Fibrosis:

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) have CF. A nonprofit, donor-supported organization, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for CF. The Foundation funds lifesaving research and works to provide access to quality, specialized care and effective treatments for people with CF.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is one of the most efficient organizations of its kind and is an accredited charity of the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance. Nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. Through its efforts, the life expectancy of a child with CF has doubled in the last 30 years, and research to find a cure is more promising than ever before.

This unique event empowers participants to take action and demonstrate their commitment to finding a cure.  To learn more about cystic fibrosis and the CF Foundation, click here.
