My Team CF Story
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis—a rare, genetic and life-shortening disease. These fellow Americans are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers. They struggle to breathe every single day. They are my friend Jonathan. He was the closest thing I ever had to a little brother, a dear family friend with an incredible zest for life, and a spirit that brightened just about everyone around him. He missed out on the cure, and he is now the reason I, along with so many others close to him, continue to fight for one.
Real progress has been made, but the lives of people with CF are still being cut far too short. So that's why we fight. That's why Team CF runs the Chicago Marathon. To raise awareness, and to gather funds to maintain momentum toward a cure. If we work together, we can help add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis.
As a member of Team CF, I am given a fundraising goal. It's a goal I take just as seriously as crossing the finish line of my first marathon on my own two feet.
I sincerely and wholeheartedly appreciate any donation you'd be willing to make. Your gift will motivate me through the marathon, and more importantly—it will support lifesaving research, as well as medical and educational programs for cystic fibrosis.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and of my lungs. I cherish your support now, and as I move toward that finish line.
