My Team CF Story
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. This includes my brother, Andy, who is 45 (ALMOST 46!) and living everyday with cystic fibrosis. LIKE WHATTT!!!! It's truly amazing and I'm so proud to be his sister.
My brother is a REAL LIFE hero. He has written 4 books - with his most recent one just published- The CD Warrior Project, run 23 consecutive Peachtree Roadrace's, completed a half marathon, ran with Olympic torch in Athens, he is on the board at UGA and at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, part of the CF adult advistory council and a motivational speaker! There is so much more to him but LAWD it would take up this page with all he does!
Andy was told he wouldnt see his teens and wouldnt live to get married and have a family of his own. Well, my brother is a fighter and will not let someone tell him he can't - becuase he CAN and he WILL. Andy and his wife, Andrea, tried numerous times to have children through invitro and finally had my beautiful neice, Avery and most handsome nephew, Ethan. They are mircales.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease, but together, we can help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? I am raising money for Wish for Wendy, Wendy is my sister who passed from this terrible disease.
