My Team CF Story
There are approximately 70,000 people living with cystic fibrosis around the world. I am one of the approximately 5% who is at least in my forties and is still alive. Kind of crazy that the number is so small but it's definitely on the rise thanks to new treatments which the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to invest in. I only wish my sister Wendy could have been around to see the progress made but she only lived 16 days. I started Wish for Wendy to give her a legacy and to give myself and thousands of others longer, more quality lives. And that is happening! As we speak, there is something called the Triple Combination Therapy that is seeking FDA approval. This is the first drug that can affect my lung function and potentially 90% of the CF community. It's so exciting!
Real progress continues to be made in the search for a cure as breakthrough drugs like the Triple Comblination Drug (hopefully available next year) have been introduced, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease, but together, we can help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me?
You can help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign today so CF can someday stand for Cure Found!
