My Team CF Story

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis -- a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe.

Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease, but together, we can help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me?

You can help by donating an amount that is meaningful to you to my fundraising campaign today!

I have been to this ride every year since 1993!  At first during my racing career it was a welcome leisure ride and great time to connect with friends and get to play ride with them.  It was so easy compared to the physical requirements of racing that it was like a day off! Throughout the years things have changed and personal health challenges have required me to stop racing to the point where this is really the only ride I do.  It takes me weeks to recover from the 2 days of woods riding over 120 miles 2 days in a row.  What used to feel like a weekend off and easy riding is now a challenge and every year I fear the next cf ride may be the last I can ride.  I'll be doing this ride for as long as I can.  Our group used to be large and dwindles every year as we all get more and more commitments in life.  This year it's only two of our group going.  Record low.  This is why I have decided to step up this year and try to garner as much support as possible.  I believe in the cause and on a personal note one of my early childhood friends succumbed to the disease.  It is wonderful to see all the great people year after year supporting this event.  I get to see the differences we make as a group and it is wonderful.

I thank you for any help...any amount.

Thanks,

-John
