About Xtreme Hike
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Xtreme Hike program takes hikers through some of the most scenic trails in the nation to raise funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis. Xtreme Hike is about reaching new heights --physically and philanthropically. It's a journey of passion, determination, and personal triumph, as much as it's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with cystic fibrosis.
The Central Pennsylvania Chapter's Xtreme Hike, a pledge based fundraiser, is a 28 mile or 18 mile, one-day hike. Hikers explore the breath taking, scenic terrain of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail and Laurel Ridge State Park in early October to witness fall color in all its glory. Hikers will be faced with challenging climbs, but at the peaks they'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Youghiogheny River. All hikers will enjoy accommodations for three days/two nights at the renowned 7 Springs Mountain Resort. This includes an energizing, pre-hike pasta party, a post-hike "finisher" BBQ at Lake Tahoe Lodge, and a victory/awards brunch. Hikers are encouraged to raise $2,500 in pledges through their personal and social media campaigns. Xtreme Hike is limited to 20 hikers, so reserve your spot today!
