About Xtreme Hike
The Wisconsin's Chapter is proud to host our second annual Xtreme Hike. Last year, 20 amazing hikers took on the challenge of hiking 30 miles in one day. In addition to accomplishing this unique fitness challenge, they raised over $90,000 in support of finding a cure for CF!
This year we will be hosting the event on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail that travels through the Devil's Lake area in Baraboo, WI. While enjoying the 30 mile hike, participants will enjoy some of the most scenic overlooks and views in Wisconsin, including a 360-degree view of the surrounding Baraboo Hills. The Devils Lake area of Wisconsin is a place of striking contrasts - open prairie, grasslands, forest, savanna, wetlands, streams, moraines and the purple rock called Baraboo quartzite that make up the walls of the Devils Lake gorge which are more than 1.6 billion years old. This one-day, 30 mile, fully supported hike is a fantastic way to engage with the beauty of Wisconsin while challenging your fitness ability and endurance. During the hike, we will once again be showcasing the bounty of nearby farms with Wisconsin food & beverage products on and off the trail, making this a true celebration of all that is Wisconsin!
|"I received so much by participating in CFF's Xtreme Hike! It was a wonderful way to make new friends while helping this incredibly productive foundation. The hike was definitely a test of endurance and will power, but we cheered each other on and I loved every minute of the training, camaraderie, sharing, and motivating!"
Base camp will be at Devils Head Resort. The experience includes an assigned
hike coach with optional training hikes starting 10-weeks prior to event,
accommodations for two nights, Friday kick-off dinner and safety briefing,
Saturday meals, fully supported hike route with aid stations every 5 miles,
transportation to and from the hike route, wicking jersey and a Sunday
