2014 hikers at North River Gorge (outside of Harrisonburg, VA) on event day, 9/20/2014
The Va Chapter's 2nd annual Xtreme Hike was 26.2 miles and took place the weekend of 9/19/14-9/21/14 with 37 registered hikers. The group was led by volunteer lead hike guide, Corey Snyder and a host of other experienced hike guides from around the state that volunteered their time. Special thank you to the other volunteers that joined to assist with transportation, photography, massage therapy, logistics and aid stations.
The net goal for this event is $75,000 and donations may still be received until December 31, 2014.
This event started in June with the first training hike at Hone Quarry and continued throughout the summer with other training hikes at various scenic trails in Virginia. The participants worked hard to accomplish their goals of being in physical shape for the BIG hike and also with their fundraising.
Plans for the 2015 Va Chapter Xtreme Hike are underway. If interested in learning more about the event, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
