The JackieCooper Team 25 Years of Fighting for a Cure Be a part of our Silver Anniversary Celebration!
In the spring of ’95, still struggling in a fog of anxiety, frustration and heartache, we asked what we could do. We needed an outlet. We needed tangible action. We needed to fight back. A couple dozen friends and family made the long trek down to La Crosse, WI to join us in a fundraiser called “Great Strides.” It felt right. We moved back to the Twin Cities. Our team grew. We branched out – climbs, galas, beer & wine tastings, t-shirt sales, concerts, runs, pub crawls, Mardi Gras parties – but always Great Strides remained our core event. And always you were there with us. Together we raised hundreds of thousands of dollars. Your commitment, energy, love, and encouragement amazed us and fueled us. Together we’ve been a force. And together we’ll beat this villain called CF. Whether you are new or old to our cause, we ask you to join us as we celebrate 25 years of doing what we’ve always done – FIGHTING BACK. When: Saturday, May 4 Where: Bde Maka Ska (The Lake Formerly Known As Calhoun), Thomas Beach Time: Registration 9am, walk starts 10am
Reality, we are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by supporting groundbreaking research and medical progress towards a cure. Please help us reach my fundraising goal!
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
