As most who will visit this page know, Laura was passionate about finding a cure for CF. After Laura's passing in 2013, her mother, Sandra took over as the driving force behind Team Laura’s fight to defeat CF. As most know, we lost Sandra suddenly a few months ago.
Even though we have lost our team leaders in this fight we must continue our work as passionately as Laura, and Sandra did. Not only for Laura and Sandra, but for the approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe.
Team Laura will not rest until a cure is found. I will not include in this all of the incredible advances being made in CF research because what I post will probably be outdated quickly. Please google for yourself the advances in CF research and you will be amazed.
These advances are made possible by fundraising efforts like this one.
This is Team Laura's 18th year. We hope to make this the best year ever.
Please help Team Laura in our efforts in helping to find a cure for this disease that affects so many families.
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
