Dear Friends and Family,
It's that time of year again...to walk for awareness of Cystic Fibrosis! My niece, Clare, is 10 years old and was diagnosed with CF at birth. Please consider supporting me and my family as we raise money to help cure Cystic Fibrosis.
What is CF? Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. A defective gene and its protein cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
At 10 years old, Clare is managing her health as if she were an adult. She knows how many enzymes to take before her meals and she can list all of the medications she uses and why she uses them. She does two vest treatments a day, nebulizer treatments, and swallows 25+ pills on a daily basis to name a few. She is BRAVE during her blood draws & tummy aches and has only missed two weeks from school due to her health. Thanks to all of this and all of you, Clare makes living with CF feel normal. Outside of CF, Clare loves spending time with her friends, sleepovers, playing the Ukelele, art of any kind, baking, watching baking shows, Girl Scouts, reading, playing football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and taking their dog Baxter to the beach.
Please consider walking with our family on May 19th in Boston, or donating to our national team in support of Cystic Fibrosis.
Walk with us. Donate. Breathe. So that Clare can breathe a little easier, too.
