Hi, family & friends!
I may be chronically ill, but don't forget I'm chronically fabulous.
For the 19th straight year, I'll be participating in GREAT STRIDES, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's fundraising event to cure cystic fibrosis (CF). This is a particularly special year for me, too, because the Foundation's chosen me as their NYC ambassador, so I'll be representing all CF patients in downtown Manhattan on May 19.
In the last two years, I've dealt with more challenges & obstacles with CF than ever. Since it's a progressive disease and apparently I can't stop getting any older, rougher experiences and complications are my new norm, and seem to be inevitable. There are some days I feel great and other days it's a struggle to make it six feet without a cough attack. Breathing, am I right?
I was diagnosed with CF at birth and though the foundation has made great strides [get it?] in treatments & medication, there's still no cure.
You can feel good that your donation will be well spent: More than 90 cents of every dollar raised by the CF Foundation is used to support its vital programs. Yay, research! Science was certainly never my thing, but I know I can help the
Foundation's efforts to raise money towards new advancements, treatments, and discoveries. That'll always be enough for me, but I need your help to do that.
For those of you new to the cause & those who've been with me since day one, I hope you can support my efforts. My family & I offer our heartfelt thanks.
