As most of our friends know, our daughter Emily was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Now at 5, Emily is beginning to understand her CF limitations and the importance of twice a day treatments but also will not allow it to control who she is or limit what she does. Whether at gymnastics, on the soccer field, or on the trampoline with her two sisters....NOTHING holds her back and when we ask her about her CF, she responds "So What." To see that determination and commitment every day from Emily and her fellow CFers is remarkable and must be looked at as an inspiration. Her strength and perseverance drives our family Every Day!
On May 19th we will be walking to help add tomorrows for Emily and all the others CFers that are fighting every day to breath. Please join Emily and our family in this fight, we will not stop until CF stands for Cure Found! We look forward to celebrating with our friends and family with a BBQ after the walk.
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
