This is Kyla. My child. Our fighter. Born with Cystic Fibrosis and diagnosed at roughly 10 days old. Although she has this disease, we have focused on raising her to be thankful to God for all of her blessings and to stay strong in the face of adversity. She is 10, loves soccer, basketball, and bacon!! She has siblings, who love and support her and a family that rallies around her in all aspects of her life. She has a pretty intense burden on her shoulders requiring a significant amount of daily medications as well as physiotherapy multiple times a day. She gets up every morning very early and works hard to maintain a schedule so that she can also enjoy all the fun things life has to offer. We pray that Kyla can remain a fighter against this disease and live a full life and get to experience all of the wonderful, beautiful, and amazing things life has to offer. Please help us be her warriors... continuing to raise funds for research, patient aid, and progress in hopefully finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
