There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe.
We walk for Autumn
Autumn is an adult living with Cystic Fibrosis. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis later in life through genetic testing. She's fortunate enough to take Kalydeco, which is a unique drug to treat the underlying cause of CF and provides a better quality of life. This year, Southern States Insurance is humbled to be a part of Autumn's story. On May 18th, 2019, we will be walking for Autumn right here in Atlanta to help cure Cystic Fibrosis.
We humbly ask for your support and hope that you consider joining our team.
Help us add more tomorrows, so that one day "CF" will only stand for "Cure Found."
How you can help.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs. This leads to life-threatening lung infections, and obstructs the pancreas, preventing natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
How does the CF Foundation help?
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all the people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
What is Great Strides Atlanta?
Great Strides Atlanta is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families. The walk will be taking place May 18, 2019, in downtown Suwanee, GA.
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
