Since 2011, the Atlanta insurance community has come together to form Insure the Cure and walk in Great Strides in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Insure the Cure was formed in honor of Clay Snellings’ daughter, Emily. Emily was born with cystic fibrosis, a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that affects every organ in the body and makes breathing difficult. Currently, there is no cure.
Through Insure the Cure, the insurance community has raised over $1,400,000 to fuel the mission of the CF Foundation. This initiative has helped the Foundation make tremendous strides in accelerating innovative research and drug development, as well as advancing care and advocacy. There are now two FDA-approved therapies, Kalydeco® and Orkambi®, that treat the basic defect in cystic fibrosis for more than half of the CF population.
But we’re not done. We are working every day to build on this incredible momentum, and we won’t stop until there is a cure for all people living with CF. Thank you for joining us as we try to help insure the cure! For 2018, Insure the Cure, has set a goal to recruit 60 teams for the Atlanta Great Strides Walk on May 19th at Suwanee Town Center.
As our key partners across the state of Georgia, we are asking once again for you to join us in the fight for a cure.
