"It's with a heavy, broken heart that I say, "Our beautiful Sarah lost her battle on November 15, 2018. She never gave up. Her body did."
"CF sucks. It's sucked a lifetime of dreams and wishes, plans and adventures from Sarah. The struggle is real, the fight is every day and Sarah was in it."
Mary (Sarah's mom)
"There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis in the United States (more than 70,000 worldwide). They are our loved ones who struggle every day just to breathe. Although the life expectancy for someone with Cystic Fibrosis has increased, the lives of people living with this illness are still cut short. There have been great advances in research with the hopes that one day CF will stand for “Cure Found,” but there is still is no cure for this devastating illness. My team, Sarah's Sweeties, is working to raise at least $5,000 to help in the fight to cure CF. Will you help our team reach our goal?"
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
