My Great Strides Story
My name is Scott and I go to Brewster High School. I have been an active participant in the Brewster High School and Brewster community for the past 4 years. I'm apart of the Brewster Semper Fi a club dedicated to supporting our troops overseas and our Veterans here at home, Brewster Science Honor Society that runs a recycling program and provides tutors in the school, and a founding member of an upcoming group, Seniors to Seniors, who provide service to the elderly in our community. I am a runner at Brewster High School, part of the infamous Apes squad that ran a tough as nails Cross-Country season. Among my friends I'm known as the Lumbajock for my affinity of chopping wood anywhere and everywhere I go. I have a real soft spot for animals which is evident in the fact that my family has taken in many strays including but not limited to a lost chicken (who's currently named Nugget). So whether it's the local food pantry, supporting our troops and veterans or saving stray chickens, I've done it all.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts. Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
Real progress has been for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Please consider making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
