Dear Friends and Family,
Our Austin Great Strides walk supporting cystic fibrosis research is only 2 weeks away. As many of you know, Colt and Willow have cystic fibrosis, which is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections, limits the ability to breathe over time and causes digestion difficulties. We hope you can come join us in our search for medicines that will help them breathe easier. Last year, the research from the triple combination trial showed improved lung function of 14% in just one month of taking the medicine for adults with similar mutations to Colt and Willow. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation plans to submit an application to the FDA this fall and then the clinical trials will start for children 6-11 years old. This will be the trial we have been waiting years to be eligible.
To learn more about cystic fibrosis, watch our YouTube video from last year:
Please help support the funding of this trial and the many other clinical trials to help our kids have a healthy life. You can join us at our walk at the Austin Zoo on May 4th at 10am or at your local Great Strides walk or with a donation to our team. We can’t wait for the clinical trials that will help Colt and Willow and we appreciate any donation you give to push the research further!
