My Great Strides Story

  • Zach
  • Zach

Our son Zach was born with Cystic Fibrosis.  While this diagnosis has been very difficult to digest, it has granted us a greater appreciation in how we live each day and a unique perspective on life.  He is a blessing, and we are dedicated to creating awareness and fundraising for CF in the hopes that a cure may be found in his lifetime.

Since it is such a rare disease that most people don't know much about, I thought it would be helpful to share some Zach Facts.

Cystic Fibrosis - By the numbers

1280 - Number of hours we have spent performing physical therapy to clear Zach's airways (Equivalent to 53.3 days)

13,440 - Number of pills Zach has taken to help with the digestion and absorption of nutrients in his food.

18 - Visits to Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia.  Thankfully only one of which was to the ER.

6 - Antibiotic treatments to battle various infections/bacteria

640 - Days Zach has survived and thrived despite his disease.  Each one a blessing.

Despite all this, a robust pipeline of drugs and recent medical advancements have significantly extended life expectancy and given hope for a cure.

Watch an inspirational video from one of the founding mothers of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Well worth the few minutes invested.

Join us for Doylestown Great Strides on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lake  Nockamixon. Registration opens at 8:30am and the walk begins at 10:00am. Walk  day is a fun, family-oriented event with a healthy 5k walk, children's  activities, food, and festivities that participants look forward to year after  year.

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.

Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!

Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.

Please support me!
