"Sometimes, real superheros reside in the hearts of small children fighting big battles"
5 years ago I wrote: "Learning that my sweet little grandson has cystic fibrosis was devastating and overwhelming news." Since then, Connor has received multiple medications and treatments that are available because of research funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We, his family, have learned so much, and been so grateful for support from family, friends and community. Today, Connor is a happy, busy 5 year old preschooler, and now refers to this team with pride as "My Cure Finders". His energy and vitality make it sometimes a shock to remember that he has this awful, life-shortening disease.
The research that would not happen without financial support from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation leads to the development of drugs which make a real difference in the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. There has been great progress, but this is still a serious, life-shortening disease, and your donations will directly benefit all the children and adults who live with cystic fibrosis.
PLEASE HELP FIND A CURE FOR CONNOR
You can help by donating to our Great Strides fundraising campaign. Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by supporting life-saving research and medical progress. Your donation is 100-percent tax deductible.
Our team is called Connor's Cure Finders, because that IS our goal!
Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
