My Great Strides Story
Three years ago my sister welcomed Ethan Zachary Spiker into the world. Just a couple of weeks later, a test revealed that he was one of the 30,000 Americans who are born with a genetic disease called Cystic Fibrosis. To keep it simple, the disease makes it very difficult to absorb nutrients from food and dramatically increases the likelihood and frequency of severe respiratory infections.
It was not too long ago that children afflicted rarely made it to their teens. Thankfully, real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease.
Donations would help add tomorrows to the lives of my nephew as well as my cousin's daughter, Naomi, an amazing 10 year-old who also suffers from the disease.
