As many of you know, my cousin Caitlin was born with Cystic Fibrosis and has been fighting an uphill battle for the last few years. In the of Spring 2016 things started getting progressiely worse and Cait was hospitalized, as her lungs were giving out on her and she couldn't breathe on her own anymore. She was on oxygen 24/7 and her and her husband, along with a team of doctors, decided that Caitlin needed to a bilateral lung transplant. Shortly after making this decision, Caitlin and Ricky packed up their lives and moved to NC, where she began treatment at Duke University, and ultimately where she received her new lungs!
On October 6, 2016 Caitlin was officially placed on the Transplant list and 26 hours later they got the call life chaging call that there was a match!! On October 8, 2016 Caitlin received her brand new, or should i say "gently used" lungs and her life hasn't been the same since. Her recovery was grueling, but she is doing AMAZING and continues to thrive!!
This year I am asking not just for donations but also for people to join my team and walk with us. We have made our team National this year and will be participating from a few cities!!
Please consider donating to this amazing charity. Although Cait received her lungs, she still has CF and as family we will all continue to fight and raise money, with the hopes that one day there will be a cure for CF! Any amount helps. No contribution is too small!!
Thanks you for your time and donations!!
