It’s that time again where we are building our team to walk for a cure! As Callan’s parents, Cory and I (Samara) want to make sure that we are doing what we can to help spread awareness of what Cystic Fibrosis is and also how YOU can help by spreading awareness and/or donating!
Because of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Callan has received phenomenal care. He is growing and delighting us every day! We are so excited with where the CFF is headed in finding more treatments, more therapies and soon a cure!
Because of your donations Callan began taking his first modulator called Orkambi. This medicine he takes every day to help correct the CFTR gene that is not working properly. We are so incredibly thankful for all the advancement in medicine and for the chance for Callan to take Orkambi. It’s a huge blessing!
But we aren’t done yet! There are still people with CF who do not qualify for this treatment and still need a modulator. A cure is on its way, and we need your help!
To become a member of our team, just click on the "Join our Team" button. From there you can make a donation and start your fundraising.
If you are unable to donate but would still like to walk, please join us! There is no obligation to donate. All we ask is that you help spread awareness.
Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
