My Great Strides Story
Chloe turns nine on May 12th, and we're celebrating by walking in the Great Strides walk on May 6th, 2017. Chloe has had a difficult year. In addition to her rigorous daily treatment schedule, she has also endured a hospital stay and three week course of IV antibiotics and steroids. Unfortunately, her lung function is still below where it was just one year ago. Chloe has taken to saying things like "I'm ready for a cure."
If you'd like to help, there are many ways. If you'd like to simply forward the email you received or Facebook post that brought you here, we'd love that. People want to help, but they need to be asked. Other ways to get involved:
1) You can be a part of our walk team. You can register by clicking on the "Join My Team" button to the right, or contact me and I will help you to register. All we ask of you as a team member is for you to help us exceed our goal by doing a little fundraising yourself.
2) You can be a Ghost Walker. If you would like to be a member of our team but are unable to join us the day of the walk, you can collect donations as a Team Member and send them to us prior to the walk day.
3) You can donate. If you are unable to take part in a walk, I would be honored if you would sponsor me with a contribution of your choice. Just click the "Donate to Me" button above.
WALK DETAILS FOR CHLOE'S CRUSADERS
5k Walk starts at around 11am at Oaks Park (7805 SE Oaks Park Way Portland, Oregon 97202). You can walk the entire walk or any distance you feel, this year the walk route is throughout the Sellwood neighborhood and Sellwood Park.
Registration and refreshments are from 9-11am. I always suggest arriving around 10:30 as there is a lot of standing around before things get started and the walk typically starts late. If you do want to arrive earlier to hang out, we’ll be there by 9am. Feel free to arrive whenever you'd like, check in at one of the registration tables and/or just look for someone on our team that you know. If you can't find us call or text either Adam (503.758.4013) or me (503.720.8801). We'll be in the picnic table area, usually near the stage and will have as much signage as possible.
