Dear Family & Friends,
Our grandson Beckett is 9 years old!
We are copying Alli and Sean's letter here because they explain clearly what Beckett's daily regimen requires. We have great admiration for the positive and fun home life they create for him. "...the real Beckett isn't all about CF—that's just one piece of his life."
"He loves playing basketball, inventing traps, telling jokes, laughing at stories, wearing tie dye and hanging out with his buddies. Beckett knows he has Cystic Fibrosis and he knows it’s a fight he will have the rest of his life. He battles every day by taking lots of medicine and spending hours doing airway clearance therapy. He is very patient at his quarterly checkups and brave when he does his PTFs, X-rays, and blood draws. Beckett is doing all he can do at his age to fight CF.
Alli and I are always trying to stay in front of Beckett's health. It takes monthly, weekly, daily and hourly discipline. We are trying to control a disease that doesn't take a day off and can rear its head on any day. Beckett's continued health is a fantastic reward for our efforts but there is more we can do, like our annual fundraising for medical research. It is empowering to know that we can be a part of finding a cure for CF and increasing the life expectancy for everyone with CF.
Your donation is something Beckett and everyone with CF will need like water, and it’s something Alli and I appreciate like a high five or a hug.
We are so grateful for everyone who has supported us once before and for those of you who make an annual donation. This year is just as important as years past, this year we have a chance to make a statement in the Portland Great Strides by showing that one team can raise $350,000 in 10 years!
Help us raise $350,000 in 10 years!! Lets show Portland we can!
Thank you so much!
-Sean, Alli and Beckett"
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining Beckett's Team,
Katharine & Goody
