Our Cycle for Life Story
Join Our Team and Help Add Tomorrows!
Thank you for visiting Team Battelle's page.
There are 30,000 people in the United States living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. We ride for them — will you join us?
We invite you to join our team, make a donation and help us raise funds to support the CF Foundation’s mission of finding a cure and improving the lives of all those living with CF.
What is “Cycle for Life”? It is a charity bike ride that raises contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). The bike ride is 20, 40, or 65 miles (your choice!). Did you know that nearly all drugs, treatments, and research for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is funded by the CFF? In fact, 90% of donations to CFF go directly towards these initiatives.
What is Cystic Fibrosis? Cystic Fibrosis is an incurable genetic disease that affects 30,000 people in the United States. The disease attacks the lungs and digestive tract, eventually leading to death. Children born in the 80s with CF were given a life expectancy of 18 years. Today, that figure has changed dramatically (37 years) because of valuable research funded by the CFF.
What does my registration fee apply to? The registration fee is used to help support the planning and infrastructure for this event. Also, every participant will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt and a medal. For Battelle-sponsored riders, those who raise $500 or more will be given a Team Battelle cycling jersey. For any rider who raises $750 or more, you will receive a Cycle for Life cycling jersey.
Don’t ride a bike but want to help? Contact Addie or Evan Moore for more information.
