Our Cycle for Life Story
First and foremost, team epiCFight rides for all people who have been diagnosed with any chronic illness or disease not limited to but including any and all forms of cancer, Chron’s and Colitis, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Cystic Fibrosis. Team epiCFight tackles life’s challenges with the “never give up” mentality. We won’t stop fighting whatever battle it is until we’ve exhausted all resources and “left it all out there”. Events such as Cycle for Life exemplify this mentality from participants across the nation.
We are riding in Cycle for Life for Annabelle Huss and Lilly and Kaileigh Traver. All three of these girls were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a result of state mandated newborn screening. Every day they diligently strap on their airway clearance vests, hold their nebulizers in place, take a handful (or two) of digestive enzymes, and carry on like any other little girl. You’d never be able to pick them out of a group of giggly, school aged girls. They run, skip, dance, hop, and play just like the rest of them.
All of the things that the girls go through on a daily basis have come at the recommendation of information gathered by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and participating physicians. Research done in centers funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continue to give us hope and faith that a cure will be found soon.
