  • Gaby and I in 2012

I have stretched myself again this year-I have taken on the challenge of participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Cycle for Life event in Middle Tennessee. This year the Cycle for Life Ride is on September 29th in Franklin for 65 miles. I know I am crazy and I am traveling the week before so I will have to finish my additional miles later. That shows how committed I am in finding a cure! I am asking for your commitment to support the mission of the Foundation. This will be my EIGHTH Annual Cycle for Life Event that I have had the honor of riding in.   Will you join me and help raise funds for vital cystic fibrosis (CF) research, care and education programs? I am riding in memory of my daughter who went to heaven eight years ago. She did not have CF but was also committed to helping find a cure for CF. She started her own walk team at her High School for our Nashville Great Strides Event. Please help me make a difference for all the CF patients and families that I work for each and every day! I look forward to the day when CF will stand for Cure Found!!

The Foundation has made great strides recently in research.• The approval of Symdeko now paves the way for new, more effective triple combination therapies as we move into Phase 3 clinical trials this summer for two different drug candidates VX-659 and VX-445. These triple combination therapies could treat significantly more people than previously approved modulators and could mean that up to 90% of cystic fibrosis patients will be able to take highly effective modulator therapies as early as 2020.

Meet Gabrielle, a precious nine year old little girl with cystic fibrosis. She is a outgoing girl who likes dancing, going to church, and playing with her friends. Her favorite colors are purple (like my daughter) and pink. While doing everything that she enjoys - she has to make time every day for almost three hours to do her treatments.  She also has to take over 30 pills a day because her pancreas does not function properly.  Let's not forget the daily antibiotics she must take as well.  Gabrielle dreams of being a ballerina someday - let's help keep her on her toes!! Your fundraising efforts will add years to her life!
