Welcome to my Page
Beginning on June 14, 2019, I plan to “vacation” from work by competing in the longest, hardest mountain bike race in the world – The TOUR DIVIDE.
The Tour Divide is a 2,745-mile self-supported mountain bike race along the Rocky Mountains (crossing the Continental Divide 28 times) from Canada to the Mexican border.
Challenges along the route include riding/climbing 200,000 feet through mountains, great distances between resupply towns, risk of mechanical failure or injury, bears, mountain lions, poor weather, snowfall, and sections that are too tough to ride. Riders carry minimal equipment to camp; and only enough food & water to last until the next town, averaging 100-120 miles per day. My goal is to finish in 22 days.
However, that’s not my only goal. I plan to participate in this challenge to raise funds for a cause near & dear to my heart: the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – on behalf of all those incredible people I’ve had the good fortune to meet throughout the course of my 13-year's working at the CF Foundation; and on behalf of all those that are faced with this terrible disease, whom I've never met.
Please join me in my effort by to help add tomorrows to the lives of those with Cystic Fibrosis. Your gift will truly help those with cystic fibrosis, as the mission of the CF Foundation is to cure CF and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatments, and ensuring access to high quality, specialized care. THANK YOU!
