My CF Climb Story
“Hi, my name is Dean and I am 8 years old. This year will be my third stair climb for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Three years ago when I climbed for the first time I didn’t reat understand why I was climbing up 58 floors of a building, but I knew it was hard work. I understand now that I was doing it with my mom and my aunt and my friends to help raise money to find a cure for something called cystic fibrosis or CF. I already knew that my friends' cousin has CF and she's just a little older than me. Then I met some kids my age with CF at the climb and my mom has told me about other kids and adults who have this disease and I really want to help.
This year I am climbing all of those stairs again and I want to raise money so that these kids and adults can finally have a cure. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is pretty cool, too. They are the world’s leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis and they have made some great progress. They need our help to keep up their great work. Too many young people need them to!
I am making bracelets and selling them to help raise money for my climb. You can donate right on my fundraising page and then send my mom a message to let me know what colors you want your bracelet to be (the CF awareness color is purple!) or I can surprise you! I'm really excited to do this and hope that you will buy one!"
PS. Note from mom: Dean has also had a few
small lemonade stands to raise money for the climb. If anyone knows of a high traffic spot that would let us set up a stand, please let me know!
