My CF Climb Story
On Thursday, Nov. 9, I'll be wearing down my legs and lungs in an effort to make a good showing at my stair climbing "home turf" while also raising money for a great charity.
I'll be scaling all 47 stories of Milwaukee's US Bank Center as part of this year's CF Climb Milwaukee event. In March 2013, I participated in my first climb at this building -- the American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb. I really took to competitive stair climbing at that point, and ever since then I've been trying to constantly improve at it, at both Milwaukee climbs each year as well as other climbs I travel to.
This climb will be my 10th at the US Bank Center in the five years I've been doing this. It's hard to believe -- I still remember my first climb pretty much like it was yesterday! And like all other stair climbs I've competed in before, this one supports a great cause: the Wisconsin Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. While I'll be doing my part in the stairwell, this climb is to benefit those people, and I hope you'll support me in my efforts.
So please help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my CF Climb fundraising campaign! Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with CF!
