My Great Strides Story
In February 2016, I was born with a genetic disease called Cystic Fibrosis. People with CF have a defective gene that causes a thick buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.
Over the last 7 years, my family and I have raised $70,000 for The CFF! And we won't stop until we find a cure!
